Greetings Sunshine Family,

The first week of our summer program was awesome! Our students spent the week learning and creating wonderful projects revolving around the Animal Kingdom! We just can't wait to see the artistic creations for Week 2, Amazing Arts!

                                           Field Trip Information

                               

  • This week's field trip is to the Berryessa Community Center! The field trip will take place on Friday, June 18th. Please make sure to arrive by 9:00 AM (for 1st Graders & up) and 9:30 AM (for Kindergarteners) on this day (for AM and Full Time Students). 

  • We will be walking to the Berryessa Community Center and enjoying some outdoor activities at Penitencia Creek Park. Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes!

  • For your child's field trip day, parents, please remember to have students wear their yellow Sunshine T-Shirt and bring a bagged lunch (in a disposable bag, to make it easy on children during the field trip). If students do not wear their Sunshine T-Shirt or bring a bagged lunch, they will not be able to go on the field trip. Please have your children eat breakfast at home on field trip days. 

  • Field Trip Policy - If a student misbehaves during their field trip, he or she is not allowed to attend the next week's field trip as a consequence.

Which class should my child go to? 
Sunshine Summer Camp assigns the kids into different age groups according to the grade that he or she is entering in Fall 2021. The roster for each class can be found here: Summer Week 2 Roster!
                             
           

Where do I drop off my children in the morning?

  • Parents may drop their children off directly in the appropriate classroom. Kindergarten classrooms will be at the Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane, 95132). Classrooms for 1st Graders & up will be located next door at the Ruskin Campus (1401 Turlock Lane, 95132). Please park at the small parking lot directly in front of the classrooms for drop offs and pick ups for 1st Graders and up.

Does my child have to sign in and sign out when he/she comes to Sunshine?
In order to avoid any unnecessary contact between families and staff, our teachers will be signing students in and out everyday. Please sign the Sign-in/Sign-out Authorization Form and bring it to Sunshine on your child's first day, or email the completed form to sherry@mysunshineschool.com. Sunshine families who have already submitted a form, do not need to resubmit another form for Summer. 


What are the hours and tuition for Summer Camp?

                         

What should my child bring to Summer Camp?

  • FACEMASK (and a spare if needed) everyday. All students are required to wear a facemask that covers their mouth and nose while at Sunshine. Exceptions are only for students with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering.
  • Bring SUNBLOCK (labeled with your child's name) everyday. 
  • A REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE every day.
  • 2 CUPS AND 2 BOWLS (labeled with your child's name) for snack and lunch time everyday. Sunshine wants to go green! Help us in our efforts to become less wasteful!
  • Bring a BAG LUNCH (on field trip days).
  • In addition to these items, Kindergarten students will need to bring ONE CHANGE OF CLOTHES (if needed).
     

What are the extracurricular classes?
A list of extracurricular classes and starting dates can be found here: Extracurricular Classes. Please obtain a registration form from your lead teacher and return the form along with your payment by Friday, June 11th to reserve your spot. Extracurricular classes will begin on the week of June 21st. 


What if my child misses one or two extracurricular classes due to sickness or vacation?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, transfer of tuition or make up classes for missed classes due to any type of absence. Regular attendance is encouraged for all students enrolled in extracurricular classes.


How do I stay updated with news in the Sunshine Summer Program?
Sunshine School will broadcast frequent newsletters to keep parents updated. Please let your classroom teacher know if you are not able to receive our newsletter. We will also provide announcements and reminders on various white boards that will be posted in front of Sunshine classrooms. Don't forget to take a look at the white board for daily news when you pick up your child!

What is the lunch menu?

Lunch Menu: (fresh cut fruit and milk will be served daily)

  • Monday: Chicken nuggets, carrots, and broccoli
  • Tuesday: Chicken and egg fried rice
  • Wednesday: Spaghetti with meatsauce / Noodles
  • Thursday: Pizza
  • Friday: Beef stew with rice

*Unfortunately, Sunshine School does not provide a special menu to children with special diets. If your child is not able to eat certain foods or is allergic, it is a safer option for those children to bring their own snack and lunches to school.


Is there an additional fee for the field trips?
There are absolutely no additional fees required for students who are enrolled in the full-time or AM only package. For every field trip, all students will need to bring a bag lunch and wear their Sunshine T-shirt.

                                     Summer Program Reminders
           
  • We will begin using WORKBOOKS starting on Week 2 of the program. Students who are attending less than three weeks of the program and did not purchase a workbook from Sunshine, please bring one from home. 
  • JUNE TUITION for our Sunshine Summer Program is due by Monday, May 31st. Families who have not paid their June tuition yet are able to do so online through their Sunshine Account, or drop off a check at our office (1363 Turlock Lane). Please note that currently, Auto Pay is disabled, so payments must be made manually online or by check or cash at the office. 
  • For new and returning families, please take the time to fill out our Health Screening Questionaire before your child's first day at the Summer Program
  • Parents please alert our staff of any ALLERGIES (food or medicine) when you drop off your child on their first day of Sunshine Summer Program.
  • For parents who registered before the Early Bird Special deadlines and have not received their bonus item(s), your children will receive the items at the end of their first day in the Sunshine Summer Program.
