Greetings Sunshine Family!

The Fall 2020 school year is starting up next week! Below are some information and updates to make this upcoming school year run smoothly.

Early Check-in
Per parents' request, we are offering an early check-in time starting at 8:15am for all families who have already registered until December 31, 2020. Starting January 1, 2021, early check-in will cost an additional $25 per week.

Students' Schedules & Log-In Information
Please submit a digital copy of your child's Distance Learning Schedule (if different than BUSD's posted schedules). If possible, submit log-in Usernames and Password for any student or parent portals that Sunshine teachers would need access to in order to make it easier for our teachers to assist your child with their Distance Learning.

All digital copies of schedules and login information can be sent to kelly@mysunshineschool.com

  • Please note that this schedule was made in adherence to BUSD's posted schedule for grades K - 8. If your child's schedule is different than BUSD's, please let us know so that we can try to adjust accordingly.

What classroom will my child be in?
For now, all students will be situated at our Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane) in two different classrooms. As our attendance grows, we will expand our location and make use of the Ruskin Elementary classrooms as well.

What should my child bring to Sunshine?

  • A face mask
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Sunscreen/sunblock and a hat
  • We suggest that students bring their own writing supplies (such as pencils, erasers, coloring supplies, etc.) to prevent contamination. However, these supplies are also readily available at Sunshine.
  • Electronic devices for Distance/Hybrid Learning (laptop/Chromebook, headphones, mics, and charger)
    • Sunshine's WIFI Log-in
      • Username: SUNSHINE
      • Password: 4082720368
  • Required textbooks and/or workbooks for Distance/Hybrid Learning
  • Personal items such as toys or electronic games are not permitted at Sunshine. Digital or physical reading books are okay.
  • Sunshine will be providing cups and bowls for lunch and snack time, so there is no need for your child to bring their own.
    • If your child's Distance Learning schedule conflicts with Sunshine's breakfast hours, please have breakfast at home, or students also have the option of having breakfast during Sunshine's break time.
    • Lunch Menu: (fresh cut fruit and milk will be served daily)
      • Monday: Chicken nuggets, carrots, and broccoli
      • Tuesday: Chicken and egg fried rice
      • Wednesday: Spaghetti / Noodles
      • Thursday: Pizza
      • Friday: Beef stew with rice
    • Unfortunately, Sunshine School does not provide a special menu to children with special diets. If your child is not able to eat certain foods or is allergic, it is a safer option for those children to bring their own snack and lunches to school.
  • TK & Kindergarten:
    • A spare change of clothes

In addition, as safety of our students, staffs, and families is our primary concern, we would be grateful if you are able to donate the following items to help us safe guard our program and facility. We thank you for bringing these items to the school when your child returns to school:

  • Adult and children surgical facemasks
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Hand sanitizers
  • Non-contact forehead thermometers
  • Gloves

Thank you very much for your support. Please stay healthy and safe! Cheers!
