Greetings Sunshine Family!

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months. As we adapt to the new normal with Distance and Hybrid learning, families face challenges of caring for their children and caring for their livelihood. Sunshine School will be providing critical child care services for working parents. Students will receive academic support with their school's Distance and Hybrid Learning program, enjoy fun activities, and have safe, distanced interactions with their peers. We are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols for the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff.

In order to gain more insight on how many families will require our services, please reply to this newsletter with the following information if you are interested in our school-age program (please refer to the School Age Program section of this newsletter for more info):

In addition, as safety of our students, staffs, and families is our primary concern, we would be grateful if you are able to donate the following items to help us safe guard our program and facility. We thank you for bringing these items to the school when your child returns to school:

  • Adult and children surgical facemasks
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Hand sanitizers
  • Non-contact forehead thermometers
  • Gloves

Thank you very much for your support. Please stay healthy and safe! Cheers!

                                            Preschool Program

Congratulations to our Preschool Graduates! Unfortunately, we couldn't celebrate the occasion at our annual Trophy Night in May, but our preschool teachers have put together a little slideshow of our 2020 Class!

A lesson on 3-D shapes with Ms. Nini!

                                           School Age Program

When does the program begin?
Our program will begin on August 17, 2020.

What is the tuition rate for our School Age Program?

  • Full Time: $300 per week (8:30am to 6:00pm)
  • Part Time: $200 per week
    • AM (8:30am to 1:00pm) or
    • PM (1:00pm to 6:00pm)

What classroom will my child be in?
For now, all students will be situated at our Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane) in two different classrooms. As our attendance grows, we will expand our location and make use of the Ruskin Elementary classrooms as well.

What will the schedule and structure of the program be like?
As we are still adapting to the Distance/Hybrid Learning curriculum, it is likely that we will run the program similar to our Summer Program. However, we will substitute Sunshine's Activity and Academic Enrichment time to fit your child's Distance Learning curriculum and schedule from their assigned school instead. We will update parents as we go to better structure our program once it begins.

What should my child bring to Sunshine?

  • A face mask (all students 6 years of age or older)
  • A refillable water bottle
  • Sunscreen/sunblock and a hat
  • We suggest that students bring their own writing supplies (such as pencils, erasers, coloring supplies, etc.) to prevent contamination. However, these supplies are also readily available at Sunshine.
  • Electronic device for Distance/Hybrid Learning
  • Required textbooks and/or workbooks for Distance/Hybrid Learning
  • Sunshine will be providing cups and bowls for lunch and snack time, so there is no need for your child to bring their own.
    • Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack will be provided for our Full Time students (8:30am to 6:00pm)
    • Breakfast and lunch will be provided for our Part Time AM students (8:30am to 1:00pm)
    • Afternoon snack will be provided for our Part Time PM students (1:00pm to 6:00pm)
  • Kindergarteners:
    • A change of clothes
