Greetings Sunshine Family,

This is our last week of summer before we begin the school year. Below you will find some helpful reminders and information to help your week go by smoothly. Thank you for staying updated with the Sunshine School Newsletter!

                                        Summer Program Reminders
            

Last Week of the Summer Program (Week 10)
Sunshine School will be open as a day care from Monday, August 15th to Thursday, August 18th from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM. Sunshine School will be CLOSED on Friday, August 19th to host Kindergarten Orientation for our After School Program. Additional note - There will be no field trip during Week 10. 
 

Week 10 Classroom Locations 
Our classes will be rearranged for Week 10 (8/15 - 8/18) of our summer program. Please, see the details below:

• Kindergarten Students will still be at our Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose 95132). Parents may drop-off and pick-up at the Turlock Location.
   
• 1st & 2nd Graders will move to our Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose 95132). Parents may drop-off and pick-up at the Turlock Location.
   
• 3rd Grade & Up will be in the J1 Portable located in Ruskin Elementary School (1401 Turlock Lane, San Jose 95132). Parents may drop-off at the Turlock Location and pick-up in J1.

No Nap for Kindergarten Students 
There will be no nap time for kindergarten students during Week 10 (8/15 - 8/18), so parents do not need to bring blankets/pillows to Sunshine.

Lost & Found 
If your children are missing any clothing, water bottles, hats, sunblock, or other items, please check the lost and found box at the Sunshine Office. The address is 1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose, 95132.
 

Items to Bring to School Everyday
Just a quick reminder, please pack these items for your children EVERYDAY -

• Water Bottle 
• Sun Block and a Hat
• 2 Sets of Cups and Bowls
  Plastic is preferred. Please, no glass or ceramic bowls/cups. Thank you! 

Enroll Now
The Sunshine After School Program is now enrolling for the 2016 - 2017 school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please visit the Turlock Office (1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose, 95031) as soon as possible to reserve your spot! 
 

Kindergarten Orientation
To ease the transition for kindergarten students into our After School Program, Sunshine School will be hosting a Kindergarten Orientation on Friday, August 19th from 5:00 - 6:00 PM. The orientation will be held in the Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose, 95132). We highly recommend that parents of kindergarten students attend this orientation to get better acquainted with the after school services, policies, routines, and opportunities. The orientation will start with a brief meeting followed by a school campus tour. Parents are welcome to bring your children, as we will have teachers available to care for them during the orientation. Parents who are not able to make the orientation may contact the office at (408) 839-8366 to schedule individual appointments that will offer orientation information.

First Day of the After School Program
The first day of the After School Program is Monday, August 22nd. 
 

Transportation Reminder
If your child needs transportation, please contact the Turlock Office (408-839-8366). We will need the following information: school name, first day of school, classroom number, and pick-up time. Sunshine drivers will wear yellow Sunshine t-shirts to pick-up students. Parents need to inform the schools & teachers that Sunshine will be responsible for picking up your child.
 

Welcome Newsletter
We will be sending out a Welcome Newsletter on Friday, August 19th. The newsletter will include important information and reminders that will prepare parents and students in starting the 2016 - 2017 school year.
