Astronomy Week was a blast! Now we are moving onto Week 9, Summer Olympics Week. Students will interact, play, and compete in various exciting summer sports!

Below you will find some helpful reminders and information to help your week go by smoothly. Thank you for staying updated with the Sunshine School Newsletter!
 
                                                                     Field Trip Information

                     

  • Field Trips on Tuesday, August 9th:

    • Amazon's 3rd Graders & Facebook's 4th Graders will go to a BBQ Party.  Please, make sure to arrive at 11:00 AM on this day. *Parents do NOT need to pack a bag lunch for this field trip.

  • Field Trips on Wednesday, August 10th:

    • Facebook's 5th Graders and Older will go to a BBQ Party. Please, make sure to arrive before 11:00 AM on this day. *Parents do NOT need to pack a bag lunch for this field trip.

    • Yahoo & Twitter (Kindergarten Students) will have a Picnic in Flickinger Park. Please, make sure to arrive before 10:00 AM on this day.

  • Field Trips on Thursday, August 11th:

    • Google 1 & Google 2 (1st Graders) will have a Picnic in Flickinger Park. Please, make sure to arrive before 10:00 AM on this day. 

  • Field Trips on Friday, August 12th:

    • Amazon's 2nd Graders will have a Picnic in Flickinger Park. Please, make sure to arrive before 10:00 AM on this day. 

  • For your child's field trip day, parents, please remember to have students wear their yellow sunshine t-shirt and bring a bag lunch (in a disposable bag, to make it easy on children during the field trip). If students do not wear their sunshine t-shirt or bring a bag lunch, they will not be able to go on the field trip. 

                                        Summer Program Reminders

August Tuition Reminder
Parents are required to pay by the Deadline for any and all weeks that are in a Payment Session, unless Summer Program Tuition was paid in FULL. The deposit amount will be applied to your child's last week in the Summer Program.

If your child has soccer, kung fu, or dance class scheduled as a morning activity, please have your child eat breakfast at home. You may view the morning classes schedule below:

Extracurricular Classes 

  • This coming week (Week 9) will be the last week of extracurricular classes. 
  • This is a friendly reminder that Zumba Class has been moved from Wednesdays to Fridays. The class time will remain the same.  
  • This is a friendly reminder that the make-up Basketball Class (for the missed class on 8/2) will take place on Thursday, August 11th. The class times will remain the same.
  • This is a friendly reminder that the make-up Chess Class (for the missed class on 8/5) will take place Monday, August 8th. The class time will remain the same. 
  • This is a friendly reminder that Swimming Classes have ended as of Thursday, August 5th.

Relocation for 3rd Graders from Amazon 
The 3rd grade students from Amazon class will be relocated to our Turlock Location (1363 Turlock Lane, San Jose 95132) for Week 9.  Parents, please pick up your children from the Turlock Location for this week.


Last Week of the Summer Program (Week 10)
Sunshine School will be open as a day care from Monday, August 15th to Thursday, August 18th from 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM. If you are interested in signing up, please contact the Sunshine Office to see if there is any space.  Additional note - There will be no field trip during Week 10. 
 

Items to Bring to School Everyday
Just a quick reminder, please pack these items for your children EVERYDAY -

  • Water Bottle 
  • Sun Block and a Hat
  • 2 Sets of Cups and Bowls
    Plastic is preferred. Please, no glass or ceramic bowls/cups. Thank you!
